Boardmasters has today revealed its third wave of 22 new acts joining headliners Two Door Cinema Club, Jamiroquai and Alt-J, as well as the likes of The Flaming Lips, The Vaccines and Stormzy.

Taking place this year from Wednesday 9 – Sunday 13 August at Watergate Bay and Fistral Beach on the sun-drenched Cornish coast, tickets are on sale via the website.

New York City based, Grammy Award-nominated DJ Armand Van Helden, Croydon’s BBC Sound Of 2017 shortlister Raye and the mysterious (oh,come on, it’s Ben Howard, Ed) band A Blaze Of Feather, are amongst the acts who will heading to Boardmasters this summer.

Also announced are Californian hip hot veteran DJ Shadow, who last year released his fifth album The Mountain Will Fall, and Idris Elba, who alongside his successful acting career is a well-respected DJ and will soundtrack The Point stage.

Natty will be heading to Boardmasters to do an acoustic set, and professional surfer Landon McNamara, who has has delved into the reggae world will be performing alongside the likes of The Amazons, Wretch 32, Netsky, Icarus, Ten Tonnes and Sam Fender (who, it is rumoured, may also be a part of Blaze of Feather).

Digital Farm Animals will be audible across the Cornish coast this year at Boardmasters, along with Cornwall’s very own 18-year-old Daisy Clark, Late Evening Glass Off, Will Heard, Kioko, Conducta, San Felu, Tommy Ashby and Will Joseph Cook.

Organisers promise that:

“Boardmasters will truly be the home of the most unique festival experience in the most epic setting the UK has to offer.”

The Beach Sessions line-up has also been announced today. On Wednesday 9 and Thursday 10 August, The Beach Bar on Fistral Beach will host intimate evening gigs as the sun sets. The Beach Sessions are truly a highlight of the Boardmasters week, with the up close and personal sets proving to be a huge hit amongst festivalgoers every year.

Electro-dub pioneers Dreadzone will be taking the stage on Wednesday 9 August, while Thursday’s line-up brings together San Diego’s Ocean Beach favourites, Slightly Stoopid pro-surfer turned reggae star Landon McNamara and Canadian Folk duo Jon & Roy for a summer’s night not to be missed.

Remember the Beach Sessions tickets are sold separately to the festival, so don’t miss out.

Finally, the VIP area at Boardmasters will be presented by 45 Live, with exclusive promised from Wrongtom, Greg Belson, Boca 45, Pete Isaac, Ollie Stratton, The Allergies and Alex Conrad. With a VIP ticket, you’ll have access to one of the finest views Cornwall has to offer. Enjoy a drink in the view of Watergate Bay and the sprawling sea from the exclusive VIP bar.

Inspired by the freedom, adventure and creativity of surfing and music, Boardmasters
was born in 1981. Expect parties that run late into the night and a beautiful beach to recuperate on during the day. The 5-day event is situated across two stunning locations in Cornwall – the surfing mecca of the UK, Fistral Beach, where world class International Surf Competitions take place, and arguably the most stunning location in the country to watch live music, Watergate Bay. Last year the grassroots surf and music festival welcomed over 150,000 festival goers to sunny Cornwall.

Can anyone tell me the date (if known) for next year? Thank you XXX

People moaning about traffic and ques, what you expect with 50k people there. Next time leave your cars home and stop moaning or....... Don't go!!

Question is there compensation for all those who had there experience soured by your parking issues today ???? I think this may have tainted their experiences.

What happens to all the tents that are left ??? I thought they would be recycled but looking at this and most of the tents left are in amazing condition just been piled up to throw away disgusting and Ridiculous

THANK YOU BOARDMASTERS !!!! Yet another fabulously organised and enjoyable event !!!! My 5th year now and it just gets better and better . Having experienced hope and glory festival last weekend you guys show them how it's done 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼😍😍😍😍🌊🌊🌊🌊

Nobody seems to care about queuing 3hrs to get in. It's the same anywhere there's going to be huge crowds of people. Common sense really. Someone took 4hrs to get out of Plymouth after the fireworks competition last week. Stop bloody moaning. If it's that bad don't go. 😂

Thank you Boardmasters - another awesome festival! We were worried that it had doubled in size but still barely queued for drinks and loos - plenty of choice for all ages ! It's a shame about the parking as only seemed to be one exit onto an already busy road - why not use the way we came in as well? And encourage people to leave later than 2pm maybe - we were at the hope and glory chaos too so know when plenty of planning has paid off X

Boardmasters been in car since 1030 still not out of the first gate yet at 330 there's no staff it's bedlam people getting angry now please send some staff up to help i have messaged you about 2 hours ago shame awful end to amazing 5days!

So many negative comments! If you don't like it stay away! Yes it's very busy and any gathering of this kind will have a few idiots who spoil things. I've been going for a few years now and love it! I'm definitely booking next year.

Took my son and his friends over 4 hours to get out of the car park and now have a 5 hour car drive home. Not impressed. Expect bad press. What a same to spoil it.

So how's that work then? 48,000 last year & extra 10,000 (with no extra space) tickets applied for this year - adds up to 58,000 in my book??!!

Will merchandise be available online?

Couldnt make it this year so i sent my son see u next year boardmasters

Amazing experience. Thankyou Boardmasters - roll on 2018!

£2.50 for a bottle of soft drink! Robbers!
