Chic and Nile Rodgers will open this year's BluesFest festival with a show at The O2 Arena on Friday October 27th.
Chic have enjoyed widespread mainstream success since their inception in the late ‘70s thanks to a string of hits including Le Freak, Good Times and Everybody Dance while its founder and frontman Nile Rodgers has produced and played on some of the biggest-selling albums of all time by artists including Madonna, David Bowie, Duran Duran and Diana Ross. He will be bringing his legendary “$1 billion guitar” to London for this rare performance in the capital which sees Chic join an esteemed rollcall of artists already lined-up to perform at BluesFest 2017 that includes Steely Dan, The Doobie Brothers, Daryl Hall & John Oates and Chris Isaak.
Hitmakers Daryl Hall & John Oates headline The O2 on Saturday 28th October for what will be their only UK show of the year. Grammy nominated Chris Isaak will be joining as a special guest.
Hall & Oates:
“We are thrilled to be making our debut at The O2 as part of this year’s BluesFest. We've heard great things about the festival and it's been a while since we've performed in the U.K. so we're sure it'll be a special occasion.”
“I can't wait to bring my band to BluesFest. I will have to pretend to be blue because I will be having so much fun playing The O2. We are so excited to be coming back to London.”
BluesFest returns to The O2 in October! Steely Dan and The Doobie Brothers are the first two artists lined up for this year's event.
Making their first appearance in the UK for almost 10 years, Donald Fagen and Walter Becker's supergroup Steely Dan, will close the festival on Sunday 29th October for what will be their only UK show in 2017. For this exclusive concert, they will be joined on the bill by legendary, multi Grammy-award winning soul and R&B hitmakers, The Doobie Brothers.
