Latest update from Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival :

CLEAN FIELDS CAMPERS – YOU WERE AN EXAMPLE TO ALL!

Congratulations to our wonderful Clean Fields patrons who left not even so much as an empty crisp packet in their camping area. Thank you for showing the love to the farm, the planet and to each other.

We ran out of places for Clean Fields campers in 2017 so we will be increasing the capacity in 2018. Clean Fields wristbands will be available in 2018 at no extra cost to Bella patrons happy to sign up to the Bella Clean Fields Code:

To camp there you need to sign up to the agreement everyone in Clean Fields keeps (and if you don’t adhere to it, we will have to ask you to move to another camping area):
– Clean fields will be spotless when you arrive. Please keep it like that during the event and leave it that way when you leave.
– Everything you bring into Clean Fields, you must remove or dispose of in the appropriate bins provided.
– All camping equipment must be taken away from the festival or left at the gate in the charity compound – please don’t drop it in other camping areas.
– Spread the love – make friends with your camping neighbours and offer help to anyone who needs it (ie the first time tent builders)
– Keep an eye on your neighbour’s tent if they are absent
– Share your food and drink around
– Don’t allow under-aged people to drink alcohol
– Keep it peaceful – don’t keep your neighbours awake with bongos!

Love the fields. Love each other! Big love from Team Bella x

Is that not just respect, common sense and decency?? 🤔

The Vw campervan field was pretty clean and tidy too, as was last year. However would be great if there had been a sink like last year, felt we were wasting water and was back breaking doing dishes down in the mud 😅 Also recycling? Only general waste, just want to do our bit too 😊

I was sceptical because I agree with other posters that it should be a given to tidy up. Was too late for Clean Fields but we camped nearby and the area we were – Green 8 – was left very tidy. I think the sight of Clean Fields inspired a lot of people, even the responsible ones, to do that little bit more. So, well done Bella.

Jacqui Thompson was probably the best place to camp … no Chris de burgh singers 😊

  5. It was a Pleasure to camp here with considerate neighbours ! We’ve been coming to Bella from the start with our toddlers who are now teens ! The only thing that ever dampens our spirits at Bella are inconsiderate people ( of this beautiful place and each other)
Another great time had by all this year . Thankyou Bella xxx

We stayed in clean fields and it was great, though almost heartbreaking to see the state of a lot of the other sites. as regular campers and country folk we find it appalling the way some people leave an absolute midden of rubbish where they camp, to lazy and utterly disrespectful of the countryside to even find a bin. Well done to Bella and if it were me I’d have the whole site as clean fields.

Great idea – It always amazes me that people can sit amongst piles of rubbish at their tent area when all it needs is a quick two minute scout around with an empty plastic bag – was pretty disgusted when we walked through the main campsite to get a taxi on Sunday as it was so messy and folk had left so much rubbish behind- we were in glamping and that was pretty much the same as the clean site – as it should be tbh x

Fantastic experience camping in clean fields but unfortunately on Saturday night, someone stole our camping table. Guess it can happen anywhere but that was a bit disappointing 😞

I thought that anyone under 21 had to be with a responsible adult? Lots of youngsters on their own with no adult in sight. Some youngsters were being evicted from one site on Friday night for loutish behaviour. I agree though all sites should be cleaned up afterwards by the campers… don’t see why it’s so difficult 🤔 do they leave their own houses and gardens in that state too?

This was our first time to Bella and we stayed in what was supposed to be the family area, as well as families there were crowds of young people. This area was extremely noisy and messy, couldn’t believe how much rubbish was left around. There was no friendliness from neighbours and although I would come back I wouldn’t stay in the family area again. Definitely, quiet area or clean fields, they looked much nicer.

Well done to Bella for this. Make the whole site a clean field site. Its been embarrassing walking through the general camping area to see the mess that some campers make. One reason we won’t camp at festivals.

  12. We were too late this year for tickets to the Clean Fields but looked forward to our usual spot in the Family Fields. Our nights were totally ruined by drunk teenagers, so much so the 11 of us will be considering another festival. It was what I imagined TITP to be like.

It’s great that people did this, but I always find it quite shocking the mess some folk leave behind them….I’ve always left it as I find it wherever I go camping…..it stuns me that other areas have so much mess left behind, it’s just a matter of decency and respect for the environment to clean up after yourselves

This is where we’ll be camping if we return. The red site was a mistake! It was like a war zone, and while I don’t object to teenagers having fun, it was ridiculous. Not banter, but just incessant shrieking, vandalism, theiving, pissing on tents, verbal abuse and being subjected to the brainless drivel that is drunken, coke-fuelled, teenage boys’ squalid conversation. And the mess left behind was the worst of all the festivals we’ve been to. So, Clean Fields for us next year!

Unfortunately the group next to us should have been kicked out of there on the first night and made way for someone else who was happy to keep to the quiet and considerate part of the code. The Festaff person on duty repeatedly asked them to keep the noise down and when he walked away it would escalate again. This noisy group were still talking at 0430 on the day of departure, thankfully I didn’t have far to drive 😠

Wev been going for 12 years n camp in the same spot every year in green camping and believe me there’s not even a cigarette doubt in the grass in our area n wev usually a few tents and a couple of gazebos with friends and family but some areas are disgusting … but have said already and agree with the above the lone teens with no adults in family area needs dealt with it’s getting worse every year …. red camping too wild so they’r choosing green to feel safer but some are disrespectful and rowdy…and before I’m told to go to quiet camping … NO… we like our fun too n chatting into the small hours but screaming n shouting at 4-5 in the morning is a pain in the bloody arse tbh

Delighted to be part of the new Clean Fields – there really was no hardship whatsoever in leaving the field in the condition seen in the photograph. I use a bin in my house for non-recyclables so 3 days in a canvas “house” changed nowt to our lives. Peace, Love and Mustard may eventually emanate through the Green and Red areas to the same degree. ✌💛🦄

If belladrum is promoted as a family event, why is there so much drinking? Clearly the reported number of arrests this year demand improvements for 2018.
Re Clean Fields camping, brilliant idea. Love it! Maybe offer discount to clean campers and charge the difference to the rest — eventually all camping could be clean. Surely we need to be setting better standards for all the youngsters to the festival?

Holly Wright – we can pat ourselves on the back for a job well done 🙂 pity about the horrendous noisy neighbour’s who had to get threatened with getting kicked out of the clean camping area, if only they’d done it on the first night would have meant we’d have gotten better sleep!

Sadly the family camp site was awful. Underage teenagers extremely drunk. Excessive screaming from young females over reactive repetitive foul language a foul mess left behind. Pretty terrible time. We won’t be back. It was a very sad site watching my friends and families leave after 1 day.

We stayed in clean fields and did take the time to put all of our rubbish in the designated area however, that was no thanks to the rude staff member who hurried us along when we and our 4 children were packing up the last of our gear. We were just about finished within the time frame to be told to hurry up or we would not be allowed back in to the area to retrieve our tent and belongings! And only to have us sit in a 2 hour queue of traffic (which only moved a few cars every half hour) in a hot car just to get out of the parking fields! After complaining to a member of staff for his complete lack of management over the situation, his responce was ‘yeah yeah whatever’ Poor end to fantastic festival…shame #trainingrequired

  23. As someone who’s not usually very organised in advance, I count myself very Lucky to have got Clean Fields entry! It was excellent! I felt very safe in the Clean Fields, as there was no through-traffic. Our neighbours were really pleasant, young people, children, and older people alike. The people at the Clean Fields entrance were really helpful and were capable of discretion.
The Clean Fields requirements are exactly how we behave anyway (we would never dream of dropping litter!).
Even in the early part of the festival, I felt grateful that our area wasn’t swirling with rubbish, and on packing up to leave, we were delighted to see that not a scrap was left.
Next year, could we have separate bins in Clean Fields for recycling, etc? It feels so ‘wrong’ to be putting our tea bags and apple cores in with bottles and cans!
Clean Fields next year too, for all who need it! Thank you for our happy camping experience this year, compared to some previous 🙂
