This year the Crowning of the May Queen takes place on Sunday 7th May.

The programme starts at 12.30 and will take place at the Bandstand in Alexandra Park.

The Crowning and Maypole dancing will start at 2.00pm, but there will be music, Morris, storytelling, face painting and Punch and Judy.

The traditional Garland Competition is open to individuals and groups, and you are invited to bring along all manner of Garland to show. This is an almost forgotten tradition (particularly for Sussex) and you can help to ensure it is not lost forever! Prizes are on offer for the best three.

The Park Café will be open for their usual fare and, weather permitting, will be operating a
barbecue for the afternoon.

And don't forget to follow the event at Hastings May Queen
