Simon Amstell, Bill Bailey, Katherine Ryan and more join the Reading and Leeds Alternative Stage

Sit tight, reading and Leeds are about to add even more names across their music stages including arena-sized comedians, global stars and club nights joining the Alternative Stage.

One of the most talked about comedians of the moment, Simon Amstell heads to Reading and Leeds off the back of his hugely successful 2017. His performance at this year’s festival is set to be as thought provoking as it is hilarious.

Following his festival stealing performance last year, Bill Bailey returns to The Alternative Stage. Known for his astounding musical knowledge that saw him become a panel show staple, he’ll be delighting audiences when his unique and much loved show.

With her exuberant style, which has dominated TV and live comedy, Katherine Ryan will entertain the crowds at R&L with her razor-sharp pop culture critique. After the recent success of her Netflix show, ‘Katherine Ryan: In Trouble on Netflix’ her set will leave you laughing for hours after.

Joining them over the bank holiday weekend are Comedy Central favourite Seann Walsh, unique prop-led performance maestro Tape Face, viral political sensation Jonathan Pie, former Xtra Factor host Matt Richardson and Piff The Magic Dragon.

It’s not just The Alternative Stage the festival has added more names to, either. The remarkable music line up continues to evolve with the Wrexham pop-punk upstarts Neck Deep who will headline The Lock Up Stage. The ever-growing popstar and ‘Don’t Kill My Vibe’ singer, Sigrid will deliver a remarkable insight into her beats and hooks that we’ve all fallen for.

Joining them are the beloved Scottish indie-rockers, The View. Join them for an unmissable trip down memory lane with their catalogue of singalong favourites. If that’s not your style, ‘El Classico’ grime stormer, Fekky will return to the fields with a full-throttle set of crowd pleasing hits.

The event has also set the stage for dirty pop weavers, Get Inuit, the unrivalled South London drill rhymes of 67 and Mancunion risers PINS.

Further appearances over the course of the weekend will come from the likes of London via Berlin duo Lea Porcelain, alt-indie blenders Fizzy Blood, live juggernauts Otherkin, rap-rock morphers The LaFontaines, Irish favourites All Tvvin, Danish riff-rippers Baby In Vain, Toronto force K.I.D and Atlanta hip-hop swayer Father – Reading and Leeds is really  filled to the brim with the hottest names in music.

Dance the night away with indie club night, Propaganda they’ll be providing the late night soundtrack with special appearances lined up from Main Stage blazers, Blossoms. Buttoned Down Disco are also on hand to bring the multi-genred hits in Reading, while Hot Dub Time Machine line up the heavy-hitters in Leeds.

The Alternative Stage is once again set to confirm Reading and Leeds as the ultimate festival party of the summer.
