Funke and the Two Tone Baby at The Vicar’s Picnic 2017

It’s a quiet weekend for Dan Turnbull (AKA Funke and the Two Tone Baby, master of the loop) – he’s only got three festivals to play in 24 hours. Luckily he gets a nice cold drink when he gets home after a 500 mile jaunt around the green fields of England…

A Tuesday night on the cliff tops watching the sun set over the horizon, playing to hundreds of dancing, singing and grooving Folk Weekers! Thanks for that everyone.

As always Farmer Phil's Festival has been incredible. Loved my little and large monkeys and it was an honour to play some harp with the fantastic Jake Martin.

Next up is The Official Broadstairs Folk Week ®
Tuesday - Royal Albion Gardens at 8pm
Wednesday - Harpers Bar at 4pm

Solfest 2017 is nearly upon us with a whole host of local, national and international artists and performers set to amaze and entertain. The organisers have been working really hard to make sure this year is going to be the best yet, if you have been before you know what to expect, if not heres your chance, you wont be dissapointed.

The festival boasts 8 stages (plus a secret stage) some of which will be running 24hours a day. There will be walkabout entertainment, kite shows, extensive kids area and activities, local beers and ales, markets, local and continental food plus so much more to explore. There really is nothing else like it in Cumbria, maybe even the world. 🙂

Also the fancy dress party is on Saturday and the theme is 'The Ugly Bugs Ball'

SOLD OUT! SE presents HOBOFest II

SOLD OUT! SE presents HOBOFest II

SOLD OUT!

Something Else presents.. HOBOFEST II !!

Since the rather wonderful folk at Watchet Music Festival announced that they were taking a well earned break in 2017, there's been quite a lot of pressure on us, as the third stage there, to put a one-off event on to aid the inevitable withdrawals.
The inimitable Jules Malone also suggested a Hobofest II.

Over a couple of pints of virtual 12% cider (with well known cleaning product chasers) Hobo Jones & the Junkyard Dogs and Something Else decided to join forces and bring you a solar and Pot Noodle powered party like no other.

So, who fancies 3 nights camping in the South/West, a solid day of live music, copious amounts of booze, nasty nosh and the first ever Hobo Olympics, all for £25, then?

HoboFest line-up so far...

Bemis
The Sweetchunks Band
Folk the System
Skeg
Sally Ironmonger
Brian Stone
Opera-lele
Funke & the Two Tone Baby
Hobo Jones & the Junkyard Dogs
Izzy B
Stuart Turner & the Flat Earth Society
Stevie Simpson
Sleaze Asylum
Gaz Brookfield
Doozer
Ghosts of Men
Emma and The Professor

More to come, Line-up subject to change at any time... coz muso's are a flakey bunch if I'm frank...

Dogs welcome on leads and picked up after. £5 donation on the gate.

S'ave it, ye dogs!

Food and drink? Still bring your own if you want, but with our Big Dub Cafe we'll be dishing up dub and low prices in our Big Top and offering the finest in street food for vegans and meat-eaters alike- wholesome, organic food is our priority- £1 tea is our policy!!
Our traders will be tempting you with a great selection of food and anything from real ale or a cheeky cocktail or a fresh juice to perk you up from that night before, to handmade crafts collected worldwide and glow sticks and ridiculousness too tempting to walk by.
